NeuroArts Academy Therapy Services

In-School Therapy Services

Does your child benefit from more individualized therapeutic support? We offer integrated, on-site services that meet your child’s needs without pulling them away from their learning community.

Our therapeutic offerings are provided by licensed and credentialed professionals and include music therapy, mental health counseling, and individualized skill-building for emotional regulation, communication, and sensory needs. Services are provided within the flow of the day, in collaboration with your child’s educators, to maintain consistency, reduce transitions, and support generalization of skills.

Every student receives core wellness supports as part of our daily program. For children needing more focused intervention, individual services can be added following an initial evaluation. While the evaluation incurs an additional cost, all day-to-day services are included in tuition and fees.

We are here to support your child’s growth, confidence, and emotional wellbeing without stigma, separation, or disruption to their day.depression, or relationship issues, we're here to support you.

Initial Evaluation

Before beginning individualized services, we start with a comprehensive initial evaluation to better understand your child’s unique needs, strengths, and goals and determine which therapy services may be the most supportive. This process includes a parent interview, a child bio-psychosocial interview, and developmentally appropriate diagnostic testing. The full evaluation typically takes 2 to 3 hours.

Insight and Collaborative Goal Making

Following the assessment, we schedule a dedicated parent feedback session to review findings, collaborate on therapeutic goals, and develop a personalized support plan.

This is not your typical IEP process. Instead of a standardized checklist, we use a whole-child and whole-family lens, creating a collaborative system of care that supports your child’s emotional wellbeing, regulation, learning, and confidence within the flow of the school day.

We believe that true support starts with understanding, and that every child deserves a plan built around who they are, not just what they struggle with.

Moving from insight to support

After the initial evaluation and parent feedback session, we begin putting your child’s personalized support plan into action. Individual services are thoughtfully woven into the natural flow of the day, always considering what times and settings best align with your child’s rhythm and needs.

Whether it is music therapy, counseling, or skill-building, sessions may happen in one-on-one moments or within classroom activities, offered in ways that feel supportive, not disruptive. Our relationship-centered approach honors trust, flexibility, and emotional safety, allowing therapeutic support to feel like a natural part of your child’s school experience.

We view this as a true partnership. Our goal is to walk alongside your family in creating the kind of daily care that helps your child feel safe, empowered, and ready to grow socially, emotionally, and academically.

Progress Reports and Caregiver Check-ins

Our therapeutic progress updates are rooted in observation, relationship, and a strengths-based lens. Rather than relying on charts or checklists, we share narrative insights that reflect your child’s emotional, social, and regulatory growth over time.

We take a neuroaffirming approach that honors your child’s individual differences. Progress is never measured by comparing your child to others, but by understanding where they are now and supporting where they are going. Updates highlight meaningful moments, emerging skills, and areas of strength, while also gently noting areas that may need continued support, practice, or scaffolding.

Our goal is to keep you informed and involved in a way that feels encouraging, respectful, and aligned with your child’s unique journey.

Therapies Available

Social-Emotional

Mental Health Counseling

For students needing additional emotional support, we offer individualized, on-site counseling with licensed therapists. Sessions are developmentally appropriate and grounded in safety, trust, and connection.

Using talk, play, or creative expression, we help students navigate challenges like anxiety, regulation, and social-emotional growth. Counseling is available as part of your child’s support plan following an initial evaluation.

Play-Therapy

Play is a child’s natural language, and through it, we help them express emotions, process experiences, and build coping skills.

Our licensed therapists use play therapy to support emotional regulation, reduce anxiety, strengthen social skills, and foster self-awareness in a developmentally appropriate, neuroaffirming way. Sessions are gentle, relational, and designed to meet your child where they are, using the tools that come most naturally to them.

DIR-Floortime

DIRFloortime is a relationship-based approach that supports emotional, social, and developmental growth through play and connection.

Our trained staff use this model to follow the child’s lead, build shared attention, and gently expand communication, problem-solving, and regulation skills. This approach is especially supportive of our autistic students, honoring their unique ways of engaging and helping them grow through meaningful, respectful interactions.

Individual Music Therapy

Music therapy offers a powerful, nonverbal way for children to express themselves, regulate emotions, and connect with others. Individual sessions may include singing, drumming, songwriting, movement, or improvisation, tailored to your child’s needs and strengths. Music becomes both the method and the message for growth, healing, and self-expression.

Occupational and Speech Integration

Motor Planning/Sensory Integration - Neurologic Music Therapy

We use music and rhythm-based tools such as drumming, movement, and metronome work to support motor planning, coordination, and sensory integration. These strategies help children strengthen fine and gross motor skills while making learning active and engaging.

By pairing rhythm with everyday tasks such as handwriting, dressing, and sequencing, music becomes a powerful support for building independence and confidence in ways similar to occupational therapy.

Speech and Oral Motor Planning - Neurologic Music Therapy

Using techniques like Oral Motor and Respiratory Exercises (OMREX), we target breath control, articulation, and oral motor coordination through singing, rhythm, and structured vocal play. These neurologic music therapy methods help strengthen the muscles used for speech and support motor planning for sound production, pacing, and expressive language, especially for children with apraxia or motor-based speech challenges.

Primitive Reflex Work

Primitive reflexes are early movement patterns that support brain and body development. When they remain active, they can impact coordination, focus, and emotional regulation.

Our Clinical Primitive Reflex Specialist uses gentle, movement-based techniques to help integrate these reflexes, supporting smoother motor skills, sensory processing, and overall nervous system regulation.
